Who we are
Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research was established in 2002 to specifically support research into new and improved treatments for children with cancer. 1 in 500 children in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer before they are 14 years old. Tragically, 25% of these children won’t make it to their 30th birthday. Cancer is the leading cause of death in children in the UK. Through groundbreaking research, Kidscan is striving to change that, giving every child with cancer the treatment they need to survive. By funding research into drug treatments and support programmes designed with children in mind, we are reducing both short and long term side effects of cancer in childhood. Our scientists are developing treatments which are less damaging to the bodies of children and young adults whilst retaining the effectiveness of many current treatments.
Curing cancer in children is a big challenge, we need your support.
